Reason for SCIS:

Three years ago, nobody expected that I’d be running marathons today, let alone running at all. In December 2008, I slid off the road while driving my truck home from Indiana to Colorado. The truck rolled and landed on top of me, breaking my neck and injuring my spinal cord. Remarkably, after months of physical therapy and rehabilitation, I was blessed enough to be able to walk out of the hospital. Last year when I ran in the Chicago Marathon, I did so in honor of SCISucks.org. That event meant more to me than I had ever imagined, and I came back home with more drive and dedication to train beyond what I thought I could accomplish. This year, I am running this race for me, I hope to break the 4 hour mark and prove I can push myself even further. I hope to do great things with my running, and at the top of my list will be SCISucks.org I believe in it and I have the scar to prove it.
