Inspiration:
I am running the 2010 Chicago Marathon as a part of the SCIS team to pay tribute to my Mother. 21 years ago my Mom was paralyzed from the waist down in an automobile accident. Since that time, she has continued to inspire me with her immense positivity, strength and perseverance. When she left rehab almost 20 years ago her friends ran a half-marathon in order to raise money for her to buy an accessible van. Now, almost two decades later, I am running to raise money to help fund neural-repair research so that individuals with spinal cord injuries can regain their mobility.
